Waterfalls In Sri Lanka                                                                 Sri Lanka is a tropical country that owns numerous rivers calculating to more than one hundred. This has become one of the major reasons for the country to be rich with so many waterfalls. When these rivers do flow through steep slopes or precipices, they form beautiful waterfalls. In fact, the island has the highest density of waterfalls per unit in the world. This has become an inviting fact for a number of tourists who come in search of a unique experience.

Most of the country’s waterfalls are found in the cold and misty hills or the Central Highlands where rivers are in their Crenon stage. This is where a river is known to be gushing and rapidly flowing. The steep escarpments found in Sri Lanka have designed some of the tallest waterfalls in the region making the country a more popular place for sightseeing and eco tourism. As Sri Lanka is equipped with almost all features that help waterfalls to be in numbers, none of the visitors leave this island disappointed. Moreover, the hill country where all waterfalls originate is naturally designed to support the falls. With its untrimmed mountain range and erosion resistant river beds, no other land can be compared with this island in terms of waterfalls.

Their value is increased significantly with their locations that are somewhat difficult to be reached. In fact, surrounded by the dense grow of forests. As they are located mostly within the forests or within a few miles walk in the tea estates of the Central Highland, the inland waterfalls have helped many service providers of the tourism industry with the opportunity to lead their guests along pathways that are rich in scenic beauty.
